The Walla Walla Valley Bands were incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2006 after a rebranding effort designed to reflect the new mission and service of the group. Formerly known as the Walla Walla Community Band, the organization originated in 1989 and for the past 17 years has proudly represented the area at events in Walla Walla, Milton-Freewater, Hermiston and the Tri-Cities.

Consisting of a full Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble as well as smaller Chamber Ensembles including Flute Trio and Clarinet Choir, the 60 members are all volunteer and pay annual dues. Overseeing operations is a seven-member Board of Directors voted on by members at an annual meeting.

Currently the Walla Walla Valley Bands operate a August-to-July calendar with traditional concerts at the Walla Walla Community College Performing Arts Center in December and March and other performances throughout the year. The Concert Band is also called upon each year to provide music at Whitman College Commencement and Convocation exercises.
