Ron McHenry has been the Music Director of the Walla Walla Valley Bands since 2001.  He attended Grays Harbor College and Eastern Washington University majoring in Music Education and Leadership.  Following school Mr. McHenry began working in the Hermiston School District in Hermiston, OR as an Assistant Band Director, a position which he held for five years.  Ron has also spent time working as a Music Resource Specialist in Pendleton, OR and also taught at Walla Walla Valley Academy in College Place, WA.

Since he made his home in the Columbia Basin in 1998 Mr. McHenry has given numerous marching band and concert band clinics for grades 6-12 and has been called upon to serve as a guest conductor several times.  A Euphonium player at heart but Trombone player by necessity Ron has performed with the Grays Harbor Symphony, Inland Northwest Orchestra, Grays Harbor Concert Band, Mid-Columbia Brass Quintet and a revival of the Pendletones Big Band.

In 2004 Mr. McHenry began a new adventure when he accepted a position with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties in Kennewick, WA.  As the Director of the Columbia Center Rotary Branch - Music & Arts Center, Ron was charged with developing the curriculum for a pilot program for the Boys & Girls Club; that of a center devoted to the development of youth through dedicated Music & Arts programming.  After four years the site was a qualified success, with an enrollment nearing 450, numerous state, regional and national awards to its name and a track record of proven results. In 2008 Mr. McHenry moved into a senior administrative role in the organization, that of Vice President of Finance. After just two years Ron was tapped to become the Executive Director of the Prosser Boys & Girls Club opening in August 2010.

In addition to his duties as Music Director of the Walla Walla Valley Bands and Executive Director of the Prosser Boys & Girls Club, Ron oversees the technology programs in Washington, Nevada, Southern California and Washington for Boys & Girls Clubs which culminate in a regional event at each location and also maintains a private office offering a wide variety of services including mentorship, youth leadership development, private lessons and technology consulting.  In the spare time left in his life Mr. McHenry enjoys traveling and whitewater rafting in Pacific Northwest rivers and occasionally catnapping.
